An informal yet stylish pattern, Provence Noir infuses a bit of French countryside into an urban kitchen. The basis of this tableware's design is a fruit and flower pattern imitating French toile fabric but, rather than the usual fresh garden colors, Provence Noir's color scheme is black on ecru with tan accents, providing a chic sophistication to this otherwise sweet classic. A black and tan woven rope border encircles the upper edges of the plates, mug, and bowl while another tan border lines the lower edges. Like the traditional French toile fabric on which it is based, Provence Bleu dinnerware from Royal Doulton depicts florals, stripes, and plaid in a striking blue-and-white scheme. Many of the fine china place setting and serving pieces are available in either a light blue floral print on white, or the reverse for contrast — a white floral print on dark blue. The mix-and-match patterning exudes a casual, country feel, yet the golden braid design along the borders adds a distinct touch of refinement. Royal Doulton makes the dinnerware and matching baking dishes safe for use in the microwave, dishwasher, oven, and freezer.
Royal Doulton Provence Noir & Bleu were produced from 2002 to 2010.
