'Mousehole' - one of the new blank greetings cards from Evocative Cornwall for 2024.

The tiny harbour of Mousehole, beloved by so many, poses particular difficulties when trying to photograph it at ground level.  Its wide, oval shape and tiny entrance make it very difficult to capture everything at one go - so this card is looking the 'wrong' way, not out through the gap in the harbour walls to Mounts Bay but back towards the town itself.

The higgledy cottages and strong harbour walls are formed of local granite, and the colour of the sand gives the shallow water a lovely turquoise tint even when it is overcast. A quiet moment at the start of the day.
