Maria was born in Rome where she studied fashion design. She then moved to New York to work as a footwear designer for various companies over a period of 15 years. During this time she also continued pursuing her other passion: painting. She displayed her work at several art galleries and took part in numerous exhibitions in Europe, USA and Australia. Maria also worked as an illustrator for many publications and advertising companies. Both her Illustration work and her paintings have been published in numerous books and publications about art and illustration over the years. After moving to the Netherlands seven years ago, she decided to use her numerous designs to develop her own collection of silk scarves.

More recently she has directed her considerable talents towards designing a collection of luxury leather bags. Using the best, soft leathers and paying much attention to detail and quality she has insisted on them being hand made in Italy to the highest standard.
